Future of ABAP-Workbench?

Former Member

Hello!

Today developers for "SAP Netweaver" use two different development tools(Java Developers == SAP Netweaver, Developer Studio, ABAP-Developers == ABAP Workbench).

Do you think that the ABAP-Workbench will be integrated in SAP Netweaver Developer Studio (Eclipse) in future releases?

best regards

Harald.

Personally I would be a little suprised if that happened. Given the tight integration between SE80, CTSs, the debugger, etc; this would seem to be a monumental task to complete without giving up significant functionality.

Add to that what was seen at SAPTechED this year. The Adobe forms designer has been integrated into SE80. There were even previous of ABAP WebDynpro running in SE80. Here to it seems unlikely that SAP would have invested so much in integrating these tools into SE80, only to remove them a short time later.

Hi

As far as I know, it is expected that SAP will release a Visual Composer for ABAP within Netweaver at 2005. This plan is mentioned in some official documents.

I can confirm that the Web Dynpro for ABAP as (I've) seen on TechEd is part of se80.
