Prerequisites for a material to transfer data from SOP to Demand Mgmt(MC74)

Hi,

Can anyone explain me what is the mandatory settings/prerequisitres that we need to maintain for a material to transfer the "Planning Data" to Demand Management so that demand is reflected in MD63 screen using the Tcode-MC74.

Please let me know if any setting that need to be maintained to ensure smooth transfer of Planning data from SOP to Demand management using Tcode-MC74.

Ensure that you maintain strategy group for material/plant. You can do so per material or per MRP group (OPPR config).

Hi Santosh,

We are using strategy 40 and Standard SOP we are using. Actually When we are trying to transfer Planning data using MC74 to Demand management for the month of May,June,July etc for a material- XYZ,we are getting error - "Requirement was already available". Infact there is no requirement in the MD63 and as well as in MD04 for the material-XYZ. May i know what could be the reason why we cannot transfer Planning data to Demand Management?.

Dear,

A material/plant combination can be transferred only once. If several combinations of characteristics exist with this material/plant combination, the values are aggregated and then transferred.

So first Disaggregate the product group and the transfer to DM.

In MC74 please choose the tird option Production plan for material or PG members and correct date and version.

Hi Brahmankar,

I simulated in Quality,actually the Sales Plan is maintained for this material in week 18(of 2011),and when we transferred the sales plan to Demand management through MC74, we are getting the message as "requirements are already available" error.

When i had removed the Sales plan using tcode MC88 from Week 18 and maintained the same plan in Week 19(of 2011), and then transfer the demand through MC74, the demand is sucessfully transferred and is displayed in MD63 and in MD04 screen perfectly. May i know the reason why this happened. Does Factory Calendar has any influence on this or Planning calendar has impact on this. Please reply.

Hi,

What is your SOP planning method? Are you using standard SOP or flexible planning?

You need to choose the SOP planning method first before tarnsferring the demand. based on SOP planning method the master data need to be cretaed will differe and accordingly it will be transferred to MRP.
