G/l Creation-asking for group account number

Hello Gurus,

I am creating G/l through Tcode FS00.But system pop the error .saying provide group account no I have not created any group account no please tell me how to create the group account number.

Hi

You create a group chart of accounts (OB13) and assign it to your operating chart of accounts. you can establish link between every GL account in your operating COA to GL accounts in group COA via gl master (FS01/02/03) via group chart of account field. If you choose to use ECCS (Enterprise Controlling-Consolidation) , then for each GL account in COA you need to create FS Items in ECCS module (1:1) and build the consolidated COA. Otherwise group COA can act as consolidated COA.

You need Country COA if you need to meet reporting requirements of specific country. An MNC with operations in various countries can have a common COA (operating COA) to ensure standardisation of accounting, but use of operation COA doesnt help in meeting specific accounting countries of country of operation. this arises need for country COA and you can establish a link to each GL account in country COA to GL accounts in operating COA via gl master (FS01/02/03) via alternate chart of account field.

So group COA sits on top to provide consolidated reporting (in much summarised form, cause 1 or more GL accounts in operating COA can be linked to 1 GL account in group COA) and then you have operating COA (to ensure standardised accounting across countries and facilitate cross company code controlling) and then alternate COA for meeting local requirements.

Hi,

In OB13, you may be assigned Group chart of account. So please maintain Group GL account in that Group chart of account level by using T code Fs00.

Then you will Group Account Number in GL master creation.

Hi Binoj,

I cannot create the G/l in chart of account level for group chart because at FSP0 it self the group account filed is appearing.

I cannot see that in OBD4 so that make that field optional.

Hi,

Try to open one existing GL account in FS00 and double click on the group account number.

you can see Group account number and chart of accounts. Try to create the new group account in FSP0 with COA which you see for the existing one or you can use any existing Group account number (it depends on your requirement)

Hi Raj.

Thanks for your reply but let me tell you we are doing in Development client and we dont have any existing g/l to check.This is first g/l we are trying to create and getting this error.

Hi,

OK, if that is the case then follow below steps.

1. T.code OBY6 double click on your Cocd and see the chart of accounts assigned.(Ex : Cocd 1234, chart of accounts ABCC)

2. T.code OB13 double click on the chart of accounts (ABCC).

3. See the Group chart of accounts assigned. (Ex : ABGC).

4. Now Create Group account in FSP0 with chart of accounts ABGC and save.

5. And then create GL account for your cocd in FS00 and assign the Group account here.

Thanks for reply.First of all let me tell you we have near about 400 company codes.but up to your 3 rd step I knows.

In OB13 we assign the group chart of account.but I have issue in step no 4 when I am creating the G/L in FSP0 the screen field is coming with Group account no hence we are creating the g/l for group account number we dont have any group account number.
