Reference personnel number

My query is as follows:

Can I create an employee in one company code and link it to the employee in some other company code using reference personnel number?

Can you please advise?

Hi Manish,

So you have this following scenario :

1 A pernr with A company code 1 A CP

1 B pernr with B company code 1 B CP

and you need to link A pernr with B pernr using the reference personnel number (IT0031). Yes, it is possible.

Via IT0031 2 or more personnel numbers should be linked together, meaning they get assigned to the same central person object in table HRP1001. This means 1 of the involved central person objects is deleted. And technically this deletion can only be done if the central person has no other relationships than the B209-relationship to the pernr.

If 2 or more involved central person objects have additional relationships, the corresponding central person object can not be

deleted and hence the system refuses the linkage between both personnel numbers.

Since it is not possible to link 2 pernrs if both have an IT0105-(subtype 0001) record, you will have to delete the corresponding

IT0105-record for one of the 2 personnel numbers. Then, you will be able to save IT0031 without any problem and both

pernrs will be linked to one central person afterwards. And after saving IT0031, you can then create the before deleted

IT0105-record with subty 0001 for the corresponding personnal number again.
