Hi
I have an issue, during the implementation time, i have uploaded all the positions with start date 01.01.2005.
But my clients wants to change the start date for few positions to a later date eg: 01.12.2006.
kindly tell me how can i change the date.
Regards
Vish

If you are in production now, you probably have run payroll. And the message you get, is related to your payroll administration record. If you really need this change done, you might have to open the admin record to allow the change.
This should happen on a system closed for users. You also have to list IT0003 before your change and reset it after your change and also reset payroll admin record.

It does not really matter if you object exists from 2005 (in your case). Why would you need to change this?
As long as the position is pulled in to your OM structure (through relationships) only in 2006, you don't really need to bother about what values the other infotypes store before that, do you?
that report works just fine. please read the documentation related to it.
I would also like to point out that begda of 1000 is irrelevant as long as the begda of 1001 suits your business requirements.
eg: I am not bothered if the position 123 has a begda of 01-01-1800, as long as the begda of position to org unit and person to position are meaningful.
finally mate, with all due respect, I believe in the concept of teach a man to fish instead of giving a fish as charity,.. if you know what I mean. Unfortunately its almost impossible to moderate a huge forum like this enforce such a belief.
cheers
