I have a user that has played with their settings and as a result only the basic fields are generated in PA20 when they search for an employee by name. Initially the Personell Area (WERKS) and SubArea (BTRTL) were displayed to assist in selecting the right employee, but now these two columns have disappeared and I can't for the life of me remember how to get them back because this just isn't something we usually fiddle with...
Hopefully this is the right area for this question and somebody can point me in the right direction!

while searching now ,which search you getting - is it with last name and first name ,or with Organizational assignment or free search

Are you talking about "Free search" option?
If yes, please check SEARK NOAHQ entry in T77S0 has value space -not X-.
Then using free search option you can restrict employees based on Personnel area/subarea.
