The movement type in the reference document cannot be converted

Please I want to post a goods issue with reference to the return PO via MIGO, movement type 161 and I am getting this message

"The movement type in the reference document cannot be converted"

What do I do to be able to post the goods issue please?

Hi,

You can not post goods issue with 161 return PO

You post Goods receipt with reference to return PO it will be trated as issue based on movement 161

Try it with goods receipt and movement 161.

On pg 202 of "Customizing Materials Management Processes in SAP ERP Operations" by Akash Agrawal, that is how it is explained there.

I have checked again and it is for Post a goods issue with reference to return PO, via Transaction MIGO. Select movement type 161.

This is how it is explained on the page 202 of the book.

SAP gives you 3 alternative reasons that you may need to check.

Hi,

First create the return PO with return tick in the PO line item

And then when you select this PO an reference document in MIGO system will default movement 161

You can not choose 161 in MIGO directly

Yes I did and I was asked to define the movement type by the system
