Pulling Stored Text into a Purchase Order

I'm trying to determine if the following function is possible in SAP. Our engineers would like to have a repository of text stored somewhere. The text would be standard messages (comments, instructions) that would have a code assigned to each group of text. Then, when entering a Material, they would simply assign one or more codes to that material and then, when entering a purchase order for that material, the text (comments, instructions) would be pulled into the PO and printed on the paper version of the Purchase Order. Someone once told me that you would store such text in STXH and STXL, using Text Object TEXT. But I was later told that this didn't allow the text to be pulled into the PO. Does anyone know if this function exists? How to make it work? Where to store this text? Thanks in advance.

any long text is stored in STXH and STXL tables.

And I am sure it works.

It just matters how you want pull it, manually while creating the PO, or automatically based on certain rules.

Should it be header text, e.g. specific to a purchasing org or item text?

    • enter one text manually in SO10

then go again into it with change mode.

select then from menu GOTO > header

And SAP will show you which text ID, text object and name is used

this info can then be used for your LSMW to upload texts

    Hi,

You can maintain text in Transaction Code SO10 as Standard Text and then pull these text on the PO using following steps -

1] Go to PO line item - Text

2] In the text tab - you will see small drop dowm option defaulting to 'Continuos text"

3] Choose the SAP Script editor in that drop down which wil take you to new screen

4] On the new screen click on Include -> Text - > Standard

5] This will open up search window and look for your text from SO10 and select that text to bring on PO text. You can copy one or more text stored in SO10 on PO

    Hope this is helpful

Thanks. That's good to know. What I should have mentioned is that we are migrating to SAP from another ERP software solution and I'm trying to find out where to migrate this text into. So, do you know where the text from SO10 is stored? Do I use the STXH and STXL tables?
