Mass update of Mtrl Master fields using MM17, (different values each)

Hello Sap Gurus,

I Have to mass update one of the field in Material master i.e costing view, "future planned price,"

here i have some 1000s of Materials but each material will have a different costing Price to be updated separately.

How can i update this individual different values in the costing view of the material master using MM17,

I'm told we can also Mass maintain and Mass update different values each to the material master fields through MM17,

please guide with steps to do this as this is quite tricky i feel,

it is possible to update different values, eg. if you copy and paste the values from Excel into MM17,

or if you define the value based on formula or ABAP coding.

But I think you better create a LSMW with BAPI import method, as it is the easiest straight forward method to update one field in 100s of materials with different values

I suggest LSMW with standard object 'Material master'

MM17 is meant for updating same value in multiple records
