COPA Characteristic Derivation for Functional Area

Dear All,

We are trying to derive the characteristc that is entred in FI - Functional Area in to COPA..

PLease let me know how we should build the relationship using KDER transaction?

Hi Gayani

If you dont have the field Func Area in COPA list of Chars - you can directly enter into the PSG window in FI

Else, create a WW char and enter the Func Area into it... Exit COPA0001 can be used incase of any enhancement needed

Without entering the value into the Functional Area characteristic field, is there a posiiblity in deriving the functional area into the COPA field from the standard FI entry.

Ask your ABAPer to code the exit... Just tell him the exit name.. It can be found in T code SMOD

Post an FI Doc infront of him and explain to him what fields need to be fetched from FI DOC (SOurce Field) into COPA Char (Target Field)

Your ABAP code must have an IF Condition i.e. If BUKRS = XXXX

Put a break point on our abap code and debug the code as to where it is failing

ABAP code must work, I have full faith in it..

Hi Gayani,

First, check if you have note 410258 and 422497. It's also good to read these notes as they have a lot of info on derivation.

I can't say what you should set in KEDR because I don't know how FKBER is set in your system. Perhaps enhancement COPA0001 can help you set characteristics to be transfered. Please check the documentation.

Note 677630 is interesting for CO->FI transfer of FKBER.
