Batch SLED date based on another Batch SLED

Hello Masters.

I have an issue here and really need your help to get the best way to solve this.

Situation:

We have a FERT material 123 and in its BOM we have a semi finished material A that in its BOM have another semi finished material B. Something like this:

FERT 123

Semi Finished A - SLED May/2013

Semi finished B - SLED Feb/2013

My customer wants the batch for the finished product 123, have the same sled for the oldest batch of semi finished material used during production process. In this example he wants the batch for the FERT material 123 have SLED equal to Feb/2013.

We have process orders here. So during the order creation we also create the batch number for the material and so the SLED date definition.

How could I manage it? Is it possible?

    Use user exit - MBCFC003.

In the parameter batch master data of this exit, you should be able to find influence the field of SLED / BBD. I had used this exit for a kind of similar need, anyways discuss with your abaper & it should be feasible.

Revert if you face any issues.

      Hello Vivek,

I have talked to the ABAPER and we get the solution by using your sugestion. We also studied the BADI that I talked to you and it works properly too but we thought it should be better use the exit.

Thanks again and thanks for all answers I have got.

    • @ Vijay,

I don't think Batch Derivation will works here.

Reason is Semi finished B is a bom component of Semi finished A.But If its BOM component of FERT material 123 then it definately works.

So user exit is a only option.

@harlencp, i have one question, why such rule is not implies to shelf life of Semif Finsihed A also? Semif Finished material B is directly used in production of Semi finished A.

      Regards,

      Dhaval

I have tested it (but never actually implemented it) and the batch derivation should work just fine in your case.

    1. You need to activate the batch where-used list in online mode. Meaning, batch where-used list is update all the time when you performs the goods issue and receipt regarding production orders. This bwul establishes the link between your semi and fg even in multi-level BOM structure.

    2. Activate the batch derivation

    3. Create condition records (DVR1 for FG, and DVS1 for semi-fg) and then link them together in condiion records for Bills of material using DVCO.

    4. Execute the derivation via DVMAN (manual derivation with 700 strategy if you do GI and GR to and from production order through migo separately). Or monitor it via DVMO (derivation monitor) if you use other strategy.

Of course, you can avoid the new fuzz about this functionality by using enhancement (although it may be quite complex).

    Hope it helps.
