Output type for item level

Hi All,

Came across a requirement that Output type triggers at plant filed.

I know as per SAP Note 457497 it is not possible i agree to that as this is a item level field and is not available in the header structure.

but I want to use some enhancement to map this requirement.

I am pretty much aware of the reason that there could be multiple values at item level and non unique value can cause this trouble

In a SD delivery you have the option to create item specific messages as there is a known business requirement like safety data sheets (which are material specific) and certificates of analysis (as well material specific).

In a purchase order such an item specific output is not known, was not known as the programs got designed, hence it is not there and not forseen accourding to the FAQ note 457497

Can you give an example why you need a item specific output?

If we maintain entry in table T618F and append structure in KOMB with a custom field ZZwerks. Also adding this field in the header communication structure.

and then we map the WERKS field with reference field ZZWERKS in access sequence step in OLME along with using a exit to pass on the data to header structure.

will these setting make the output determination work on the plant field.

This requirement came to my friend in a impelementaion project so i dont have the complete details

you have to test this yourself or if you have luck you may find someone who has done it.

Better implement a user exit to stop users from entering items together in one PO which require seperate output.

why is it not possible for output determination on item level field when it is possible in SD-billing delivery etc with some enhacement???/
