Hi,
We have a flow like Data source
> Transformation
>Info source
>Transformation
> Info cube, (data source is 3.x) and here we need to create DTP from Data source to info cube. So, while trying to create DTP from data source to info cube, it is again asking to create transformation between data source and info cube...But, we just need to create DTP with out that new transformation...Please let us know the possibilities for this scenario...as we could see the availability of same scenario for the other flows
Thanks..
Hi David....
It means you are using the Emulated Datasource .....and also you are not using the update rules anymore........you have created transformations....right....
Then it should work...because we are also doing the same....

Hi,
In BI7 you dont need to use infosource. You can directly create transformation between your Emulated datasource(3.5) and Data target ( cube). Then create DTP between DS and target.
Else, if you want to use Infosource, first create DTP between datasource and Infosource as you have transformation between DS and Infosource.
Then create another DTP from Infosource and Target as you have another transformation between these objects.

Hi,
Could you please explain what is the exact requirement why do u want to bypass the use of transformation.
In case you dnt want transformation then you can load the data by using an APD or expert routine. However, if you use an expert routine also, you will have to create a transformation.

Rahul
Hi,
Ideally it should not ask. Can u try one thing?
Create a direct transformation between the 2. Then when you create a DTP system would ask the Data Flow for which you want the DTP.
Then select the flow mentioned above. Later delete the direct transformation.
Hi,
In your flow from (Transformation --> Infosource --> Transformation) is there any complex routine written or in the final mapping to the cube (infosource -- Transformation--> cube) any field which is getting filled using lookup or so, because if there is no such complexities then you should be able to create a DTP from DS to cube.

Arvind.
your mixing up terms/versions
if your datasource is a 3.X as you state in your post, you can't have a transformation to the infosource, it would be a transfer rule. this goes to the infosource. if the entire flow is in 3.X, you have an update rule to the cube, not a transformation.
in this case, you create an infopackage for the datasource, and you flag also the cubes you want to load.
if you really want to use a dtp, you need to convert your datasource to a bi7 ds and create a transformation from the datasource to the infocube without using an infosource...

Its asking you create transformation because you are trying to create DTP between Datasource and target directly without having a direct transformation between DS and target.
