Copy Pasting from Query Designer into Excel

I am creating documentation for a Query I am working on. I am hoping to make my life easier by copying all the available Free Characteristics into an excel sheet rather than typing them all out. Are there any solutions to this or am I out of luck?

Thanks in advance.

Hello MSullivan,

I believe this is not possible.

However, you can save you query as a view. Then, the free characteristics values will remains.

Or, you can create a workbook.

This is just a suggestion.

I hope there is other way.

Best Regards,

Edward John

Hi Nikhil,

Your suggestion will work enough for me. Or at least it will be the closest I will be able to get to getting what I want. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Hi,

Try copying it from RSA --> Metadata Repository --> Queries

I'll agree with Nixhil.. the metadata repository is an excellent resource for documenting designs. I'll add a separate recommendation.. it is my personal standard to create a separate tab for complex spreadsheets titled "Documentation" and another tab titled "Instructions". Thus the workbook is self documenting and sufficient user instructions are also contained therein.. which means you do not have to have a separate method of delivering user instructions.
