Applied Manual Hours in KB21N is not reflecting in CN41N report

Hi Experts,

1) When hours are posted through CAT2 the total hours are matching in CJI3 and CN41N reports.

But when values are posted through KB21N hours are not getting aggregated in CN41N report and reference documnet number also not getting generated against KB21N transaction.

This is due to the fact that the CN41N reads the actual work from the confirmations' table (AFRU)

Whatever has been entered as quantity in KB21N is written to COVP and is taking into account in the line item report (and can probably be found in COSS/COSP as well as in RPSQT in the respective quantity fields).

In brief: actual work comes from a confirmation, not from some CO/FI

Solution:We can go for T-Code CN27-->Collective confirmation it will reflect the actual work hours in CN41N (Project Structure Overview) which is also shown in CJI3 (Line Item) reports .

hi,

The hours which posted through activity confirmations(i.e., Indirect allocation) will be aggregated in Structure reports-CN41/CN41N.

But the hours which will be posted through Tr.Direct Activity Allocation-KB21N will not be aggregated in Structure Reports.

But, you can see the both values(Hours) relevant for Activity confirmation (Indirect Allocation) as well as Direct Activity Allocation Values in Actual Cost Line Item Report.

Customer is using KB21N to post rejected hours due purely to volume.

Processing in CATS as one employee, one date per week at a time would be prohibitive.

Hi Rob,

The way standard SAP works has already been briefed in my previous post. As far as i know, I don't think there is a possibility of achieving this in the standard system. Even in my previous project the client used to follow the KB21N process and had to live with the fact that these hours do not appear in the CN41N report.

Maybe, you will have to go in for some custom report development.

activity allocation will be done through secondary cost elements. please check whether these secondary cost elements are considered in the value categories or not. if not please try by maintaining it. It may solve the issue.

I guess this is the standard behaviour of the system I tried the same scenario in my system and came across the same results. Hours posted using KB21N are not shown in CN41N. However the actuals posted are correctly shown in CJI3. CJI3 shows these results with the document number that got generated after running KB21N. Its possible that CN41N being a structure overview, shows only those values that are part of the structure planning process. KB21N however is for entering direct activity allocation which results in actual postings without anything being planned on a particular object within the structure itself.

In short, i think hours posted using KB21N won't be displayed in the CN41N.
