Autmatic generation of GL Account numbers

Hi

Is it possible to generate GL accounts automatically in FS00 or LSMW upload? I want SAP to generate GL account numbers automatically as it does for vendors and customers (i.e internal number range).

Hello

Autumatic number ranges are not at all adviseble for GL accounts like customer and vendors

GL accounts are catagrized as per the business process like simple example

Liablites in one range like 100000 to 199999

Assets 200000 to 299999

Expenses 300000 to 399999

Revenue 400000 to 499999

If you choose internal number range revenue account and libilites falling under same number ranges which is not suitable and will create the lot of problems for further problems like creatin of financial statement version

Hi,

The number range for the GL accounts is controlled by account group. Here you dont have option to decide it as internal or external. Hence you need to put the GL account number manually.
