After RAM Upgrade from 8GB to 24GB,dialog wp goes to PRIV mode

Our Company Producton server recently RAM upgrade 8GB to 24GB and then we r increase the 6 dialog wp and

1 background wp and the following parameters are changed as given below

Before RAM upgrade After Ram upgrade

abap/buffersize=450000 to 900000

rsdb/ntab/entrycount=21000 to 28000

rsdb/ntab/ftabsize= 31500 to 35000

rsdb/ntab/irdbsize= 6200 to 8192

abap/buffersize= 450000 to 900000

rsdb/cua/buffersize= 4000 to 4500

rdisp/wp_no_dia = 6 to 12

rdisp/wp_no_btc = 3 to 4

After RAM upgrade the dialog work process frequently goes ton PRIV mode frequntly , some times more than 10 dialog wp goes to PRIV mode at a time, the users 140 and sessions 190 to 200 .

suggest me how to fine tunning the system and is there any increase the virtual memory in OS Level when upgrade the RAM.

Hi,

After increasing the parameters, did you see any swapping in st02 monitor?

If yes, did you see any overload in the extended memory i.e. swapping in that?

Also check the swapping and load in the st02, with the previous history. Kindly review your parameters.

Hello,

the extended memory is set up very small for a 7.00 release. So when you configure more work processes more parallel users are possible and the usage of the extended memory increases as well. I assume you just have to increase em/initial_size_MB. With 24GB physical memory I would set it to at least 8G better 16G.

You can check at OS level or using ST06.

Hi Gangarao,

You can check through ST06 in SAP and topaz through operating System. When you increase the RAM you should increase the VM also.
