Target Cost in Production Orders

Former Member

Hi

Can you please let me know the pre requisities of target cost calculation in the production order.

When can we see the target cost in the production order?? What stage of the order does this get calculated?

I see orders with DLV and w/o DLV having the target cost calculation.

Issue -

for the same material one order has the target cost and the other doesnt show any target cost. Both the orders are in TECO and DLV status.

Please let me know..

Thanks

Vithal

Target cost will update once the std cost estimate is carried out and release before any goods movement for that order.

If the cost estimate is not carried out and goods movement is carried out in this case system won't update target cost, after goods movement if you done std cost estimate also, system won't update

Hi

Thank you for the response.

Standard cost estimate is run in the beginning of the year in Jan.The cost estimate is valid from Jan to Dec 2011 There is no change to the estimate.

So after the GR is posted to the order the target should have got calculated which is not happening.

Also the issue is for the same material for 2 different production orders . For the order in March 2011 the target cost got calculated and for the order created in April 2011 the target cost is empty...

This issue is happening for different materials, the target cost was calculated last month but not this month.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks

Dear,

you can release the std cost estimate only one item, once the std cost estimate is released, then applicable for the particular period only.

Check in Material master costing 2 view.

For the order in March 2011 the target cost got calculated and for the order created in April 2011 the target cost is empty...

Please check the order creation date it may be on Jan

or

Check in Material master costing 2 view., you can see the std cost estimate in current period, whats the period? is it 1 or 3

if its 3 that the reason , you can get the target cost

Please consult with your CO consultant for more details

Thank you!!!

The current period in the costing 2 view is 4 , 2011.

The cost estimate is valid from 01/01/2011 to 12/31/2011.

I still don't have an answer , I will check with the CO consultant..

Hi there,

In the standard system precalculation of product cost takes place when You first save the production order u2013 here You will have a new order status: PRC pre-costed.

Do You have this status in both orders? Do You have the status CSER in any of Your orders (costed with error)? Status and its dependencies could be checked in BS23 tr. action. PRC = I0016, normally the statuses has work flow-management, telling You that which are the business tr.aciton (statuses) related to the chosen status. Actually the PRC has none, which means TECO, DLV or any other status do not depend on PRC (You could close or flag for deletion with our without having precosted).

So, if You have the PRC status: need to be found out, why no value found / assigned to prod order during pre-costing activity; if You do not have the status, but CSER: need to be found out why the business activity did not take place.

Pls check this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/6d/efc8a47a5111d3a6f000104b55d538/content.htm

I hope this will help
