Machine usage hours

Hi PM Gurus,

How to find out the machine usage hours and how to track the machine if the same has been used for different projects.

In detail if the machine is used for infrastructure company, machine needs to be shifted from one project to another very frequently. Then how to track the machine and how many hours it has been utilized for that project.

I know if we decommission the machine then we it has to be re commissioned in another functional location.

Is there any other way to find out my requirement.

thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sudhakar.

    Hi,

Difficult question... As for me, there are 2 different ways :

    1. If the machine is used for production :

Then the answer will be found in PP tables. But I don't know PP very well, I can't give you the name of the tables... S225 may be usefull, you can find which material is produced, then the quantity in MSEG, and the time using task list.

    2. If the machine is used for maintenance :

So why don't you associate the machine to a work center, and then entry its activity using IW41 or IW44 transaction ?

    Hope it helps...

    Philippe
