Error while logging in portal

hi,

I have installed EP6 SP3 on SAP WAS6.40. When I try to log in portal, sometimes I get the following error message

Portal Runtime Error

An exception occurred while processing a request for :

iView : N/A

Component Name : N/A

The exception was logged. Inform your system administrator..

Exception id: 11:25_27/10/04_0007

See the details for the exception ID in the log file

I checked the visual administrator -> Server -> services -> logviewer

I see errors "com.sap.exception.baseException:error reading logcom.sap.exception.BaseException:eror reading logat com.sapmarkets.bam.applicaton.MergeEngine.getResultsFromBuffers"

The errors have a huge exception stak trace.

Can anyone let me know why I get these errors. I have not yet patched portals and my WAS patch level is 8.

Another problem which I am facing is after few minutes I log on portal, my server crashes and restarts again ( I have enough RAM on my system to run EP).

Can anyone let me know which am I facing this problem.
