Dear Experts, we are having issues when employees post time to a WBS or IO which are open at the time - but are closed before the manager approves, or before payroll posts.
We post weekly, so the employee may enter for 4/26/11 when the WBS is still ok to post to -but it is closed on 4/27/11 to prevent future postings going forward. We still need to post the 4/26/11 as it is valid for that cost object. WE don't see anyway to use validity dates for IO or projects. Any advise?
You can use the note 426424
You can check notes 1290887
You can build a check via CATS0003 or CATS0006 for chekcing on the WBS closed etc

Yes we are using cats (via portal). The problem is in the timing. They enter the timesheet when the WBS is open.
But the following could subsequently happen:
o Employee cannot sign a time sheet with a WBS has been closed since the entered it.
o Hours with a WBS that has been closed since it was signed and approved will not transfer to Payroll from CATS database.
