Crystal Reports XI r2 - notthing happens when I click the Export button

I open crystal reports, pull up a .rpt file, it opens okay, and I see the data. I want to export it to Excel. Last week I could. This week, when I click on the Export button, nothing happens. We may have had some corporate software patches installed last weekend, but I don't know what maintenance was done. Any suggestions on how to get the Eporting function to work properly again?

Hi,

When you say nothing happens I'm not sure what that means exactly. Do you at least see a list of the different formats or just nothing opens when you press the Export button?

If pressing the Export button does nothing then chances are Crystal cannot see the export drivers. Look for u2d.dll and u2f.dll.

If they aren't on your machine I would recommend reinstalling Crystal.

Good luck,

Brian

I mean, my query results appear on my Crystal Reports screen, but that when I click on the Export button, the software does not appear to react. I do have the properties of the report set to allow for exporting to all formats (word, pdf, excel,...etc)

I have the .dll's that you mentioned installed

12 of the u2f*.dll's in c:\Windows\Crystal

6 of the u2d*.dll's in c:\Windows\Crystal

Hi,

XI doesn't use the Windows\Crystal folder. That was for older versions. Drop those DLLs into the same folder as the viewer.

Thanks,

Brian

[Don] - And delete that folder if it's not required. CR XI R2 no longer looks for that hard code path for CR runtime.
