What is the purpose of "Insert As Tracking ID" CRM Email?

Can anyone explain What is "Insert As Tracking ID" CRM Email? How is it used? Any documentation would be wonderful!!!

Hello Donna,

the tracking ID is an unique ID per Email. This is used to be informed if an recipient has for example clicked on a link within the email. If the recipient clicks the link he is routed to the CRM-System and afterwards to the link-destination. This happens very fast - so that the recipient does not realize that there was a routing to CRM in between.

So there is no purpose that can be used in the Call Center when the email comes back with a response - it will not automatically link the email to the previouse interaction etc. Just want to confirm the functionality.

Hello,

i have the same problem right now. When i try to do something with the "Insert as Tracking-ID" Button, it just puts "default" as a normal text into the texting field, without hyperlinking. It doesnt change when i change my reference.

When i send it to myself for testing, there is just that text and in the CRM happens nothing.

How can i fix that, or what should this button really do? Do i use it wrong?

may i ask for help that i cannot make the dropdown list available in the reference area.

even though i make some customizing in the transaction type (Obj. Ref. Prof), but i doesn't work.
