Performance Mgmt - Approvals by Higher Level Manager

Hi All,

I configured the template and it passes from one phase to another without any issues., all are controlled by Appraiser (manager) as of now., and Appraisee the document when needed.,

But I used Higher level manager as one of the roles and I gave the access to him to move the document from COmpleted to Approved status, but when I logged in as higher level manager to the portals, I do not see any document? Is there a seperate iView for that? I logged in as the same way a regular manager and clicked on Talent management and clicked on Performance mgmt link but I do not see any documents assigned for him?

I wanted to use in this way. In Prep, Planning, Review and In process by Appraiser, until complete. Once complete higher level manager can move this document from Complete to Aprove status.

Am I missing any administrative data ?Can you suggest if I am doing anything wrong? also, I do not see any notifications generated. Can you please advise me.,

Hi,

if you add the Higher Manager as Further participant, then the he will see the document in the ESS POWL... In the MSS POWL user can just see the document where he is an appraiser.... So you will need to access the document though ESS.

Another possibility is that in the status flow, you add a workflow event so the Higher Manager gets a workitem in his inbox asking to access the document for approval/complexion.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, I see exactly as you told., but how come I do not see any notifications generated in Portal Inbox? Do i have to do anything specific, the user I am logging have all authorizations. Can you tell me what specific workflow I need to look into to appear these notifications in UWL or SBWP?

Hi Murthy,

For workflow notification, ensure you have tagged the correct workflow event (in the status flow configuration) and activate the workflow event via PHAP_ADMIN_PA, Utilities -> Event Linkage (Workflow). Hope it helps.

I have these settings already, and I didnt see any notifications. DO you know the technical names of Workflows used in SAP PM? also, do we have to add Further Participant to have the higher manager in the process, doesnt it forward automatically by the notification generated to the higher level manager in his portal inbox?

Can you please confirm, if you can see the document in the PHAP_ADMIN_PA transaction code, as expected.

Hello,

For me it seems work list is not correctly reaching in the managers inbox

see the workflow is routed and he has his action items correctly. check the role/authorization assigned.

Hello Murthy,

If the "Higher-Level Manager" has no participation (is not appraiser, appraise or further participant) in the appraisal document, he/she will not see such document.

I can see that you have the Higher-Level Manager already assigned as an authorized person for some status change button,

but have you assigned the employee to the Higher-Level Manager role? For the way you want to use the application, you should add the "Higher-Level Manageru201D as a Further Participant. Of course, you need to set the flag "Further Participants" in the category (t-code PHAP_CATALOG) first.

Also, please do not forget to select the role "Higher-Level Manager" in the tab "Roles" of your template.

I hope this can resolve the issue.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions., Yes, Now I created further participant and added Higher level manager employee to that in document preparation data. Now I see that document forwarded to the Highr Level manager, but I do not see any notification sent to him either in SBWP or in Portal inbox? I assigned the notification to him when status changes from in process to complete? Do i have to do anything specific to get these notifications working in Portal inbox or SBWP?

DO you know what are the workflows that are called? Also, just in case if I need HR admin to move status, then I need to custom create this role and add him as further participant again?
