Basis Dates and Scheduling dates in Production order

Dear All,

While making production order can you please tell me how the basic dates and scheduling dates are calculated using work center and routing.

Basie date will be calculated from In-house production days&schedule margin key from material master MRP1 view in case of basic date scheduling in MRP , or from routing time and schedule margin key from

suppose, routing time is 1 day, In schedule margin key the release period in 1 day, float before production -1day, float after production - 1 day

ex: basic start date is 24/04/2011

then Basic date start is 24/04/2011 and the basic finish date is ( start date release dayfloat before prdn+ routing time+float after prodn) i.e, 28/04/2011

schedule start date is 27/04/2011 , 00:00 , and schedule finish date is 27/04/2011, 24:00

Dear,

basic dates are very generic estimate dates. It will be calculated based on the material master values.

let says you have in house production time of 1 day in material master. system will calculate basic start and finsih date based on these settings.It will not look into routing times.

scheduling dates are dates calculated based on routing times and formulas in work center. system will look at schedule margin key (floats) and routing operation times to determine schedule start and finish dates.

Dear sir but in Material Master i have mentioned the In-house production time as 2 days and when i do the production order for 1000 unit then system shows the date as start date = 24/04/11 and finish date = 12/05/2015 i.e., 4 years

Dear all,

In material master i have mentioned in house production time as 4 days but when i do production order for 1 EA then i get the basic dates details as follows:

Start date = 24/04/2011

Finished Date = 26/04/2011

Why it is so can anybody explain ?

system is taken the time from routing

Hi,

Check you scheduling formula. u must be creating production order manually. manual production order scheduling takes routing timings.
