trigeer workflow from mail

Hi All,

Is there possibility of starting a worklflow when an external mail is received. The blog link /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/09/receiving-e-mail-and-processing-it-with-abap--version-610-and-higher tells how to do an action , so I understand that I can do some action on receiving mail, but for a workflow I would need some paramters to be passed as well.

How can I do that.

Regards,

neerja

    Hi,

Yes you can trigger workflow upon receiving an external mail.

First thing you need to check with Basis team whether a incoming port is open or not to receive an external mail.

Then you need to wirte the code by usng class to handle the incoming mail and maintian it in SO50 ( Tcode ).

After successfull receiving please trigger the event to start the workflow ( FM SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT or SWE_EVENT_CREATE )

Please check following thread this might help you

    Receiving/Reading external Email from ABAP

    Thanks and regards,

    Hello,

When you receive an email, create an event with fm SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT. You can include parameters with the event.

Link the event to the workflow.
