separator interpose

Hello Gurus,

I have a requirement where in I have to interpose a separator ( an asterisk and a semi colon ) between the fields that are displayed. I cannot change the table fields length. Can anybody help me here? Thanks

Please specify the question more clearly.

As per my understanding, you want to place a symbol in between the two smartform table field values. If that is the case, you have to place the symbol at either end of first field or at stating of new field.

If my understanding of your question is wrong, please elaborate the question.

Hello Vamsi,

Part of your understanding is correct. I have a table with fields and I have to interpose the separator between them.And yes I can include that either in the beginning or end of the field. But I cannot change the field length of the table to include these separators... In the sense if i want to display payment type code 04 which is a field of length 2 char. how can it now include 2 more characters ?

And its SAP script I use a print program. I hope this is clear.. thanks for the response.

Add new fields that just contain the separator.

Hello Rob,

It was a nice way but was stuck with one thing. At the onset I started following that. But there are lot of fields in the table and I was wondering if 2 fields are sufficient for 2 separators. How can i append them to the file or print program?
