Field Release Group in GL Master Data

Hi All,

I have a problem when I want to fill release group. In Vedndor/Customer Master Data, there is a field for release group. But in GL Master Data there is no filed for release group. I want to use it to maintain workflow for Tcode FBV1 (Parked Manual Journal Entry). Please, need your advice. Thanks in advance.

Dear John,

Release Approval Group is basically used to classify vendor and customer and one can determine release approval paths through this. I don't think it is required in case of GL. You should check the logic once agin as to why you want to fill for GL, this has got nothing to do with GL.

Thanks for your reply. It is because when I want to active workflow for T code FV60 (Parked Invoice), I have to assign release group in vendor master data. But when in T code FBV1 (Park manual journal entry), I have to assign release group in GL Master Data or in T code FBV1? Could you tell me where other config to assign release group for T code FBV1? Need your advice..Thanks

Hi John,

If a parking documnet has either of customer of vendor then there should not be a issue as you can find release approval group, if this is not the case and all lines in the documents are other than the customer or vendor line then the possible solution in that case is to assign separte approval path keeping release group blank. You can also put the path based on the document type, you check which path would be appropriate with a particular documnet type. Also you should check with business people that which are the documnet types which can post such posting not having a customer or vendor. E.g KR is a document normally have vendor similarly SA is a documnet which has GLs.

Do you mean I have to assign b y document type (SA)? But it didnt work. Can I have assign release group for T code FBV1?Please give me some instruction how to config workflow for FBV1? Thanks.
