In our Netweaver 2004 system, Kernel 640, 64 bit 347 patch....We do not find file oraroot.sh but we have saproot.sh

Please suggest why we do not have this file and how can we get it.

??

oraroot.sh is only used during Oracle patch installations, it's not part of the kernel.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for Reply.

So it means we should not execute oraroot.sh after kernel Upgrade.

We checked on our ECC6.0,Kernel 700 and having same database 10.2.0.4, It contains this file.

Please confirm.

Did you download and unpack both kernel packages (Part I - database independent, adn Part II - database specific)? I think oraroot.sh should be in the latter one. You should use both packages at once to keep your kernel consistent.

As Markus explained before , you dont need oraroot.sh after kernel upgrade. You need to run only saproot.sh after Kernel upgrade.

To make this clear: Markus and Prince are perfectly correct - saproot.sh is sufficient., you don't need to use oraroot.sh. However, as I believe that oraroot.sh is contained in kernel part II, I suspect that you downloaded just the Part I.
