DataSource cannot be updated in an InfoCube.

Hi,

I am new to SAP. Act, i created generic data source over VBAK and VBAP including the fields:

VKORG, AMTBL, BSTNK, VBELN, MATNR, MATWA, ARKTX, KWMENG, LSMENG, KBMENG, KLMENG, VRKME, MEINS & CMWAE.

I transferred the data source in BI side and make a new Infosource and infocube. I made 2 Infosources for AMTBL and ARKTX.

And the rest of the fields are as follows:

0salesorg, AMTBL, 0doc_num, 0doc_number, 0material, 0mat_entrd, arktx, 0cml_or_qty, 0reqdel_qty, 0cml_cf_qty, 0cml_cd_qty, 0sales_unit, 0base_uom & 0doc_currcy.

After making transformations & mapping, when i made DTP, on activating the DTP it gives me error as:

DataSource ZPRACTISE_GDS ECDCLNT230 cannot be updated in an InfoCube

Can anyone please tell me how can i solve this error??

Dear Roma,

Go to the datasource manage> Select the request which is loaded recently having the erroneous data> click on the PSA button.

Now you can find out the erroneous record either by Filtering the value on the field 0DOC_NUM or by displaying the complete records in PSA and the searching the value (' .lkboig') in the 0DOC_NUM field column.

In this way you'll figure out the erroneous record, just try to correct it there by selecting the record and later on save the record.

Try to move this request from PSA to the target once again. This time you will not face any problem hopefully.

Hi,

I got it but now m facing problem when m loading data in DSO. the error comes after activating the data load in DSO. And the error comes out to be as:

Value ' .lkboig' (hex. '20002E006C006B0062006F0069006700') of characteristic 0DOC_NUM cont

Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT InfoObject 0DOC_NUM

Activation of M records from DataStore object ZDSO_TST terminated

Can ne1 please help me to solve it?

Dear Roma,

It seems the data which you are trying tyo fetch contains special chacter or may be space in the value(Value ' .lkboig' ) for infoobject 0DOC_NUM. try to remove the space in the PSA maintainence manually and load the data again. hopefully it will solve this error.

there may be a mapping issue as well. Also refer this link :

This error is because for one of the records (or more than 1), 0DOC_NUM (Document Number) = ' .lkboig'.

As far as i know, 0DOC_NUM will give you only an Integer value.

What you can do is first delete the particular request from the DSO.

Then, check your PSA for such record(s).

Edit those records - remove the extra space that exists (' .lkboig').

Then Save the data in the PSA.

After that, use the option of Scheduler & upload the data back into the DSO.

Then try activating the DSO.

If all the error records have been corrected, you'll not face any problems while activating the DSO.

Also, if you want to check the values in R/3, VBELN is 0DOC_NUM.

Hi roman,

In your generic datasource, in generic delta option , kindly select the radio button additive delta if you are directly updating it to infocube .

Just to add, if you want to pull the data of vbak , vbap in your BI side , you can use standard datasource available in ECC.

2lis_11_vahdr (for sales order header)

2lis_11_vaitm(for sales order item)

Both the above datasource can be updated to standard infocube 0ic_c03 (sales overview cube)

Hi,

Check your data source, if you have maintained Generic delta for your data source in R/3 side and selected the radio button New status for changed records it will not allow to activate if you are not using a DSO in between.

If you want to activate the load you can either change the datasource such that it does not handle delta or change the delta to additive delta.
