Hi,
I need to implement DAILY forecasting process on BPC. Is there anyone have this experience and wiling to share it with me please?
Thank you
Yani
Hi,
A daily forecasting model can be quite complex in the sense that it will have a lot of transaction data (at a daily level). The major thing is the configuration of the time dimension. Your time dimension should have the granularity till the days. Depending on the reporting requirements, you can maintain the hierarchy (may be as YEAR, QUARTER, MONTH, WEEK, DAYS). Accordingly, you might want to create custom measures as well.
Hope this helps.

Hi Nilanjan, thank you for your input. If I create the time dimension from year to days, it will be for recording the transaction based on the date. This means when they pull a report for 2011.Q2, it will add up all the transaction for 3 months though, which won't be right.
What I need to do is to build this daily forecast so they can compare what the forecast as of today vs 10 days ago. Any suggestion please?
You mentioned about custom measure. Could you please help me what i need to do with the custom measure?
Thank yo uso much for your help

Hi Yani,
To see forecasts you can have Daily, Weekly, Quarterly, Monthly and Yearly data which are by default designed on an hierarchial manner in BPC tool. When you want to enter forecasts daily then you can select those base members in the memberset of input schedule control panel. If you want to see any other also then also you can customize your contol panel in the input schedule and see it accordingly. You can also see reports in the same manner.
For more details, please refer to the input schedule guide with respect to the Contol panel settings and membersets.
Hope this clarifies you.
Rgds,
Poonam
