We are implementing WM/PP integration in SAP implementation
We have 10 production lines, bins are located sides of each production line.
Now plant manually moving materials from raw material warehouse to production bins located in 10lines
Post SAP
How we can map above scenarion. Should we define 10 production supply areas??
Business wishes to move required qty of Raw materials to production supply manually How can do that?
If possible few critical materials they via Staging..please help how we can achieve this
Please help. I Am new to WM/PP Integration
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Just my 2 cent idea,
10 production lines, bins are located sides of each production line.
For PP
-
The work center can represent the production line but the work center will not be the integration point with WM.
For PP/ IM
-
You can use supply area in PP integrate with IM without WM.
To use this , you can either maintain the storage location in MRP view / Work Center supply area.
During your good issue , the storage location willl be the default value from Master data / work center.
But you also need another WM/IM integration Point
For WM/ IM
-
Here is your integration point between WM with IM.
You need WM interim bin that is link with the Inventory Management (IM) level.
You will need one interim storage areas that consist of at least 4 of the below :
-Goods receipt area
-Goods issue area
-Interim storage area for differences
-Posting change area
You should define interim storage areas the same way you define any other storage type in WM.
Hope can help you.
TQ.

Are the production lines far apart and is there a business need to track staged inventory at each line then PSA by Production lines.

When you refer WM/PP staging, it is typically driven by the order requirement. Meaning that it is a pull rather than a push. By interpreting your mail, I'd assume that certain materials are push. You'd neither maintain PSA's nor the control cycles for these materials.

Maintain PSAs and Control cycles for these materials.
