UWL errors with the attachments

Dear SDN,

we are on EP 7.0 , we are having problems when opening the attachments, it is a new custom task which was created in ECC and we are getting the same task displayed in UWL, everything works fine, but when we click on attachment it is showing junk characters, but when we logon to GUI instead of portal we can see the attachment without any problem,

tried re-registering the system and cleared the cache but still the attachment is showing the junk characters,

do we need to add anything for the configuration.xml file in order to display the attachments properly, can somebody please help us in this issue?

first thing need to check is what type of the document you are trying to open like tiff, jpeg, docx ..... ?

based on that you need to install add'ons (Active X controls) on your desktop to view those attachments.
