Hello Experts
We are considering using performance based plan and multiple counter plan in SAP PM.
I am new to this area. I would like to know how this functionality can be used in SAP and what are the detailed steps.
Regards,
Pallavi
Hi ,
Since i also learning performance based plan in PM , let share some here.
In Performance-based Maintenance Plan, SAP automatically links Counter to the Maintenance Plan.
After my personal investigation , only performance based maintenance plan are using counter.
Normal Maintenance Order will not use counter as Master data.
Example Performance Based Plans :
When the measuring point counter reaches 3000 -1st order should get generated
2nd one at 6000, 3 rd one at 9000 etc...
Or
1. Single Cycle with counter -- Ex . Maintenance every 3000 hrs
2. Strategy Cycle plans.. -- Ex. Maintenance every 3000 hrs and every 6000hrs
3. Multiple Counter Plans..-- Ex Maintenance every 2month or 1year..
Process Flow.
Create equipment with suitable measuring point (inc annual estimate) with Tcode IK01 create measuring point
Create initial counter reading measurement document
Create task list (optional for single-cycle plan)
Create counter based maintenance plan
Scheduling maintenance plan (IP10/IP30)
Create measurement documents periodically
IP01 - Umbrella transaction to build all types of Maintenance Plans
IP41- Create Single Cycle Plan - Performance-based or Date-based
IP42 - Create Strategy Plan where we have to enter a strategy with a number of maintenance pakages pre-defined
if you are using a Strategy Plan, you may need to create a new Strategy/ review existing strategy and include it in Task List and Maintenance Plan.
Hope to help you.
Thank you.

Dear Kent,
While creating multiple counter plan, in the maintenance plan scheduling parameters, you will find the logic selection screen.
You may choose the logic which is applicable ie. whether the maintenance object should be called, whenever a counter reaches the set value OR should wait till other counter also reaches the set value.
