HI! can we change the port used for accessing the Target URL coming from PI, our scenario is RFC<->PI<->WS from external server. we are using a proxy server on the SOAP receiver adapter, problem is the proxy is listening on port 80 and as default the adapter is sending it on port 50000. how can we change the port of the SOAP adapter from 50000 to 80, thanks' or is there any work around for it?
Hi,
Is the external Web service residing on the Proxy server is in the same domain as the PI server?
If yes, then you don't have to worry about the ports, the communication between 50000 & 80 will be automatically allowed.
But if these 2 servers are in different domain then the firewall ports need to be opened between them.

@abhishek - we need to change is because the target URL is residing on a different server it is this one and the default port for it is 80 http://www.theinfoboard-smart.net/webservice_application/outgoing_server.php?wsdl and we are having problem accessing its wsdl since we need to pass throught the proxy server first whick is listening on port 80.
I've also tried creating a RFC port type G just to test my connection to the Proxy and encountered this error same as on my RWB HTTP 407 Proxy Authentication required ( The ISA server requires authorization to fulfill the request. AAccess to the Web Proxy Filter is denied. )
@ Supriya - yes the 2 servers are in diff. domain, what do you mean that the firewall ports need to be opened between them?
will it allow communication of my receiver SOAP adapter wth port 50000 the the target url just by using a proxy?
because the target URL is residing on a different server it is this one and the default port for it is 80
did you try opening the wsdl file from internet browser?
what do you mean that the firewall ports need to be opened between them?
Contact the netwrok team of the company which has the PI server installed....inform them that you need to access the above URL and the corresponding port....once the netwrok team has opened the ports over the firewall then you can access the wsdl from your channel.
Hi,
If the servers are in different domains, then the communication between them has to be allowed through the firewall.
Hence the PI server port (50000) and proxy server port (80) needs to be allowed to cummunicate over firewall; contact your network team for this.
You will have to provide the IP address and port number of PI Server & Proxy server to them.

@abhinshek - yes I can open it on my browser, OS of the PI server is Unix and we've tried it there just to test the proxy on the PI server and it connects. Its because the browser runs on port 80 thats why it allows the connection even if it is on the PI server. But when the proxy is accessed using SAP ABAP via http port SM59 and SAP NW PI soap adapter it was not able to connect since the port is now 50000
can we change the port used for accessing the Target URL coming from PI
the port used in the Target URL of the SOAP receiver is of the receiving appllication....50000 is the default port of PI and there ideally shouldnot be an issue accessing that (at least within your organization)....why do you want to change it?
