Using PCK with XI3.0

Greetings,

I have installed the PCK SP5 running on J2EE server. The PCK GUI is working fine. we have also configured a simple scenario to send a File from PC (where the PCK is installed) to XI. In the XI directory when I tried to configure the Communication Channel of type File, the system doesn't show the PCK host on the Adapter Engine DropBox !

How can I connect the PCK to the SLD ? I could find any link from the PCK config tool.

All the adapter config is done in the XI directory what is the use of the PCK config tool ? I am sure I am missing something !

Mustapha,

The PCK should run standalone and has no connection to the SLD whatsoever. The file adapter needs to be configured in the PCK itself (http://host:port/pck/pck.jnlp).

According to SAP Documentation, we should configure the communication Channel centrally in the XI directory !

So we also need to make another config in the PCK itself?

When Creating the Communication Channel in the Xi directory, what king of adapter engine should we select?

Is there any document that can help with PCK Config ?

Hi Mustapha,

Iin XI you only configure a communication channel for central and decentral adapter engine, not for PCK, which is usually a stand alone installation, where no XI is available. You use PCK in a B2B scenario where your partner has XI, but you do not want to install XI.

On the installation disc of the PCK there is the documentation available. If you have installed it correctly, you have a documentation on the PCK itself online.

In my scenario, we have to link a payment machine (connected to a PC) to an SAP system via SAP XI.

I have installed the PCK in the same PC but I could find how to link this PCK software to XI. I am trying to use the PCK as a File Adapter Engine.

In the PCK Config, you can just set the FTP address/port, but there is no place to specify the target SAP XI system/client/passwd !

Could you please help.

In this scenario it seems to make more sense to use a decentral adapter engine instead of a PCK. Just reconfigure the PCK with the installation guide for the Adapter Engine (SLD access, Cache, Exchange profile).

If you want to use the PCK to connect to the XI, specify a receiver channel with XI protocol, here you set the URL, user and password of the XI system. Define receiver determinations, interface determinations, sender and receiver agreement as if you would do it in XI.
