Adapter related alert configuration

Former Member

Hi,

I have set the alert for mapping in PI 7.11 from alrtcatdef & the RWB.

Applied similar procedure to do it for adapter related errors, but no alert is generated.

i defined a alert category in alrtcatdef and a alert rule in RWB. Fixed user is also assigned.

I am using "SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT" to catch such error via alrtcatdef.

Thanks,

Vishal K

Hi Vishal,

Run the report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER in se38 and check what exact error you are getting for alerts.

Hi Supriya,

I just checked the log and found "No rule matched".

But i have assigned a correct rule with senders & receivetrs to this specific category.

Since this is related to adapters , is there any setting that needs to be done in PI or else.

Hi,

Try to use sender Business system name and Interface name for sender component and receiver Business system name only while defining alert rule.

for other entry make it *.

Hi Vishal,

Use * for every condition (like Sender Business system, interface, etc).

Also, check 'No restriction' parameter and make sure you are using the correct alert category for the alert rule you are defining.

HI Vishal,

You are not getting any alert, because there is no error getting generated in adapter engine.

To test whethere you will actually receive any alert or not, You have to create some dummy mistakes in your receiver communication channel. Then adapter engine will catch your error and generate the alert as well.

For dummy mistakes means.

Try , to give some path for file or archive which is not existing. make it sure that check box for create directory must be unchecked.

In advance mode, You can put some file size limit and try to process file greater than that.

are you able to get alert messages for mapping failure?

check in RWB if you have un-selected Suppress Alerts of this type.
