    Hi,

I suggest you to go though homogenous system copy guide for your version of NW.

Ensure the following things are in place

    - Download the appropriate SAP installer kit.

    - Upgrade the source kernel to that same level.

    - your source Disk space is sufficient to hold export.

    - mechanism to move dump to target is in place.

    - Have sure you have enough disk to increase your temp and undo TS.

    - Then run SAPinst initial checks and find out if everything is ok

    - Then start with export.

    - Move this dump to target.

    - Install with SAPinst using this dump.

    • > One more point since this is OS change database specific methods should be fatser than R3load based system copy.Markus what do you say.

This doesn't work. You can import a backup taken on Linux to Windows or vice versa. This is described in the system copy guide.

There are other methods to move the database - like "transportable tablespaces" and "Oracle to Oracle online". However, you won't get around having a certified consultant on-site to do the migration, in any case.

    Hi,

What sort of help are you looking for ? You need to be specific about what info/answer you are looking for.

Just in case, you want to know where to start from .... i would suggest go through the link below first

    System Copy and Migration

http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw (for sysem copy guide for your SAP version)

Also please note if your Migration Project involves Production System , it is mandatory to have a person who is SAP Certified on OS/DB Migration

    Regards,

    Neel
