Positng of Variation margin for Equirty Futures

Hi

WHile posting variation margin , error msg encountered "

Enter rate / USD rate type M for 15.04.2011 in the system settings

Message no. SG105

Diagnosis

For the conversion of an amount into another currency, an entry is

missing in the currency conversion table.

Procedure

Add the missing entry in the currency conversion table.

Execute function

You can then continue to process the commercial transaction.

Can any one help. I am posting VM in INR only.

Hi,

Your company code crcy might be INR. But in case if your future class crcy is USD, then even if you are posting you VM in INR or any flow in other flows in INR, then system would maintain position flows for the future class which is based on the future class crcy. Hence you need to maintain the relevant crcy rates for INR/USD.

In case if your valuation area currency is USD, then also you need to maintain these settings.

Hi,

in case you trade Futures <> your CompCode-CCY, the system needs a FX-rate for the relevant CCY-pair to convert the flows (VM, IM, commission).

Is the CCY of the Futures-Class really equal to your CompCode-CCY?
