TCKH3 Table (cost component struct): how to maintain it?

Former Member

Hello all,

It's a simple question about TCKH3 table.

I know that It contains relationship between "Cost component" field (ELEMT) and "Full Cost" field (EL_HV).

But, were is customizing-way to update/change EL_HV value?

I already tried via: Controlling -> Product Cost Controlling ->Product Cost Panning -> Basis Settings for Material Costing -> Define Cost Component Structure, but without results.

Or, perhaps, should I have to update TCKH3 directly?

Thanks so much in advance for any suggest.

Hi,

In general SAP does not recommend changes to cost component structure.

A change in the assignment of a cost component structure will cause a structural interruption in the update of the cost components. This means that costing data saved before the change was made are no longer comparable with cost estimates carried out after the change.

Cost estimates that were saved with different cost component structures cannot be used with transfer control.

That is why we recommend to create a new cost component structue instead of changing the current cost component structure.

The assignment of the new cost component structure to your cost estimates is done via company code in OKTZ:

> Assignment: Organiz. Units - Cost Component Struct

Please note the following:

For a standard cost estimate the cost component structure must be selected through the company code. This ensures that the same cost component structure is used for all plants and costing variants in the company code. If you use different cost component structures in different plants, the standard cost estimate in one plant cannot access the results of standard cost estimates in other plants to transfer costing data for materials transferred from one plant to another. Costing variants that specify the same costing type and valuation variant must use the same cost component structure.

Hi Waman,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm fully aware that any change is not recommended (It's only my curiosity).

Into customizing I still do not see any screen where appears text "Full Cost" (corresponding of TCKH3-EL_HV).

Best regards, ciao

Maurizio
