Hi All,

I need to take the redo log backup to a tape device with veritas net backup.

Please let me know the parameters that need to be set in init<SID>.sap and init<SID>.utl

The comman I am using is brarchive -u / -c -d util_file -sd

The parameters set in init<SID>.sap are

backup_dev_type = util_file

archive_function = save_delete

archive_copy_dir = H:\oracle\<SID>\sapbackup

archive_stage_dir = H:\oracle\<SID>\sapbackup

util_par_file=path to the .UTL file.

Remaining parameters are set todefualt.

The parameters set in init<SID>.UTL are

switch_list

switch_sem

switch_log

server

Client

The online backup is running fine with the same .sap and .UTL files.But redolog bakcup is hanging.The command is able to find out the no. of files and the size of archive redo logs in the archive directory.It is able to read the .sap and .UTL files.

Please let me know anything needs to be changed in configuration files or in the command.Please guide me where I am going wrong.

Regards,

Dinakar
