Hi All,

i have observed in SAP BPC backend system ie BI for HCM and Finance applications there is a full update with yellow status. what does that mean.

Go to RSA1>select HCM cube->Manage-> You can see a request with yellow status

Please let me know why it is yellow status for long hours. Thanks.

Hi,

This is in BI called " Real -time Infoprovider" which is used for planning purposes (changing or writing data), which different from Standard Infocube. Data Requests in Real -time Infoprovider will remain open until the number of records in the data request exceeds 50,000, the status will be in yellow.when application writes data to the request and the upper limit 50,000 data records is exceeded, the data is saved and the reqest willl closed & green satus.

Real-time InfoCubes can be filled with data using two different methods: using the transaction for entering planning data, and using BI staging, whereby planning data cannot be loaded simultaneously. You have the option to convert a real-time InfoCube. To do this, in the context menu of your real-time InfoCube in the InfoProvider tree, choose Convert Real-Time InfoCube. By default, Real-Time Cube Can Be Planned, Data Loading Not Permitted is selected. Switch this setting to Real-Time Cube Can Be Loaded With Data; Planning Not Permitted if you want to fill the cube with data using BI staging.

When you enter planning data, the data is written to a data request of the real-time InfoCube. As soon as the number of records in a data request exceeds a threshold value, the request is closed and a rollup is carried out for this request in defined aggregates (asynchronously). You can still rollup and define aggregates, collapse, and so on, as before.

The switching from planning to loading automatically ,can be maintained by process chains .

Hi Sanjeev,

This is a standard behavior for Transaction (Real Time) Cube. After 50000 record, this will automatically change to green.

For Manual change- Goto RSA1- Right click on the cube- change from planning mode to data load mode. Request will green.. Again change the mode to plannable.

Hi,

When we do planning in BPC, the cube associated to the application is in the planning mode. And thus, the request is in green mode. Once the request is closed, it automatically becomes green and a new request is created with yellow status.

Hope this helps.
