Web Dynpro ABAP is NOT shipped, NOR available in Netweaver '04. If this should be your interest, there is a Web Dynpro forum that specifically discusses the Java version of this development environment. See previous threads on this topic for status quo. With this, we now terminate this discussion in this forum.

You must know that you have 2 web dynpro techniques:.
ABAP Web dynpro and JAVA Web dynpro.
I am a BSP Developer and know ABAP very well. The problem is with SAP Netweaver Developer Studio that you need to know JAVA. You'll have to wait until the ABAP Web Dynpro is available. I worked with ABAP Web Dynpros in SAP ECC 5.0, a ramp-up phase. I created an illness application with it. But I understand from SAP that officially this technique will be available in Netweaver 5.0.

If your R/3 4.7 system is based on Basis Technology WAS 6.30 or WAS 6.4, then you can create and run Web Dynpros. You need Netweaver Developer Studio to develop WebDynpros. Even if your 4.7 system is not based on WAS6.30 or WAS6.40, if you would like to practice WebDynpros, download and install Netweaver Developer studio in your local machine which has got java run time environment. You will find links to tutorials in the Netweaver developer studio as well as in SDN.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Web Dypro and BSP are not the same thing.

Also read the weblogs from Brian McKellar and Thomas Jung and myself for examples of using BSP.
