Set TextObject with null string gives NullReferenceException

We've just upgrade out solution to VS 2010 and are now having a problem.

We get a Object reference not set to an instance of an object in the following line when invoice.Observations is null.

((TextObject)report.ReportDefinition.ReportObjects["TextObservations"]).Text = invoice.Observations;

Is this not allowed in CR for VS2010? Has the behaviour changed or is there a workarround?

    I haven't tried this, but if you are trying to pass it a value, have you tried checking if invoice.Observations is null and if so pass the textObject an empty string.
