Event Management as a seperate server

Which is the best option in the following and also please provide the justification for the same

1. SAP EVENT management as on addon for sap ERP (ECC)

2. EM as aseperate server.

Hello Kiran,

this depends mainly on the volume you expect in EM. If you have a moderate volume installation as ERP Addon would be the solution. If yuo have a high volume scenario a separate installation is the better solution.

You should also consider if your ERP system has the pre conditions for EM as addon installation.

For SAP EM7.0 it is SAP EhP4 forSAP ERP 6.0.

For high volume, a seperate server is best option to avoid SAP EM coming in the business critical path. However, stress testing and RFC connection (synch/a-synch) fine tuning are recommended activities before the Production environment.

Also, consider if you will be using the web interface. Web interface will bring in other concerns regarding security and performance of your system. In my opinion, if web is part of the landscape, a separate instance would be better,
