odp1 dip profie - Quote>planned totals, not picking Work Center or Plant?

Hi Guru's

My issue is that I am not able to get the dip profile when running dp82 to pick up the characteristics - Work Center and Plant:Work Center.

I have configured the following:

Usage

Quoteation and Sales Pricing

*Characteristics *

Activity Type - Char Rel. / Mat Determ/ Structuring

Cost Element - Char Rel. / Mat Determ/ Structuring

Material - Char Rel./Mat Determ/ No Summ/ Structuring

Plant of Work Center - Char Rel./Mat Determ/ No Summ/

Work Center - Char Rel./Mat Determ/ No Summ/

Stat. key figure - Char Rel./Mat Determ/ Sturcturing/

Sources

Planned stat.ind - Totals

Planned costs - Totals (no specific selection criteria for sources)

Currently for material determination, i have not used the characteristic of plant of work center because it gives me an error that the combination can't be found because sap does not seem to be picking up the plant of work center from the planned cost....to get by, If I set material determination to activity type only (from work center) I can pick up the material....but I have a requirement to pull work center plant into determination. When I run DP82 on the expenses tab, and I double click on the activity type and material number, it shows me the data that generated the material number - Network Activity, Trans Curr, Cost Element, Activity Type...the other fields are blank - work center and Plant: work center

Any ideas on why even though I have selected Plant: work center as characteristic releveant / mat determination/ No summ...the DIP does not pull that information ? Is it an SAP limitation due to this being planned to - total records? Or am I missing something?

Hopefully my post is detailed enough for someone to advise quickly.

Looks like these items won't be brought in as characteristics unless planned via ECP? If this is the case, very impractical!

Hi,

- The criteria for selection of sources should also be from some of the characteristics you maintained in order for the system to pick up only that relevant cost.

- I am not sure whether Workcenter & its Plant give you consistent value processing for Planned cost totals but "Activity Type" & "Cost Element" shall do it.

firstly thanks for taking the time to read my post and respond.

As you correctly mentioned - i actually don't really need for the dip to pick up the plant work center for material determination - my cost element and activity type will do the trick....

I was looking to see if I can bring those items (specifically plant in work cneter) in to use for an potential enhancement ... currently when running the dip to create a quote, it picks up the billing element plant as the SD line item plant for all cost items generated from my networks and activities....we were investigating if we can pull the work center plant to populate over to the quote-sales line item to drive material pricing from the work center plant in the quote....

It seems that even though I have the work center plant as a characteristic, it's not even pulling the data...

Ok.

There is an exit in RRB for DMR line items .. "V46H0001" which has got two function modules, the 1st one being "EXIT_SAPLV46H_001".

( This was used by us in our project to copy shipping plant field value from Contract line item into the debit memo request line item )

The documentation regarding this exit (1st function module as mentioned above) says that ...... "With this exit, you can modify the sales document item data before the item is created."

Try this.

But what if one WBSE has got multiple WC with different plants?

thanks again for your feedback.

we eventually got this solved yesterday..we did have that exit in mind but were not sure how we could get the work center plant as a characteristic populated . Ended up using a user defined characteristic to get wrk center plant populated since that does not come standard (only if planning via ECP)..... then we used the exit you mentioned to replace the line item.

we do project work where we utilize other resources (equipment or labor) from other sap plants on our projects - only the n/w activities that are 'interfacility' should pull the work center for sales pricing onto lines.
