Solution Manager Diagnostic Agent Installation - Multiple app servers

Good day,

For DVM, we need to install SMD agents on our ABAP based systems.

Does the SMD have to be installed on the Central Instance or can it run off any of the installed application servers, AND is only one SMD required or on all Application servers?

Hello Derek,

Check the attachment "Agent_Installation_Strategy.ppt" in note 1365123. This presentation shows exactly where you should install the SMD agent.

Basically, you should install one SMD agent per host (physical or virtual).

Additionally to Allam's recommendation, apply Diagnostics Agent version 7.20, this version already has SAPHOSTAGENT deployed.
