Visual Composer does not display all system aliases

Hi,

we have installed the visual composer. Our visual composer does not display all integrated r3 systems. I have found a sap note, which describes that the visual composer does not work with sso tickets. We have used sso tickets for one r3 system and we had declared one r3 system as r3 reference system. We changed all back to uidpw authentification and no r3 reference system.

There seems to be a problem in the Distributed Query Engine.

Does anyone of you know this problem?

Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Olaf Reiss

    Hi Olaf,

Are you sure that your r3 system is configured correctly ?

Do you manage to see any other R3 system ?

    Please check the following:

    1. Run a connection test from the system editor: Go to the system definition and from the context menu type: Open -> Connection Test, then select "Connection test for connectors", run the test and see if it succeeded.

    2. Make sure that you've defined an alias for the system

    3. Make sure you've configured user mapping for the system alias specifically for the user you use in your VC to login to the portal.

    • Yes, I see some of the systems. I have configured all connectors correctly. It worked all fin until we activated a r3 reference system in the portal or the sap logon tickets. I am not sure.

Have not found your connector test. Where can I find it in the portal.(EP6SP2P3HF6).

We have seen all systems before.

Some times I see the system again when I change the system alias and sometimes not.

      What coul cause this problem?

      Thanks.

      Kind Regads,

    Hi Olaf,

The test connection I was talking about does not exist portal SP2 version.

I've mentioned the 3 steps you need to follow in order to see systems in VC:

    1. Define system.

    2. Define alias.

    3. Dfeine user mapping.

It sounds like your problem relates to step 3. Make sure that the portal user that you use when you log in to the portal from VC has user mapping deffined in the portal to the relevant alias/system of r3.

      Hi Olaf,

This problems sounds as if there is some exception thrown in the middle of getting the system list. Can you check the logs for any exception while performing this action?

(This can happen due to: special characters in names/aliases, misconfiguration of systems, other bug)

As one of your systems may be the cause for this exception, all previous listed aliases gets displayed and that may explain why changing the alias name (-> changes its place in the listAliases action) causes it to appear - it is listed before the exception occurs.

But that's just a theory. Lets look at the logs.

      Regards,

      Yaniv.
