Configuring new scenarios on an already installed and configured SolMan

Hi All,

Solution Manager is already being installed in the system. I need to manage the portal using the Solution Manager. Rootcause Analysis is not yet configured in the Solution manager, and portal is not connected to the SolMan yet. How will i achieve these configurations on an already installed and preconfigured Solution Manager ? What is delta configuration?

Thanks and regards,

Divya.

Hi DIVYA BHAT

- Firstly keep in mind that is strongly recommended update solman to SP26.

- Perform all the Initial and Basic configurations of SOLMAN_SETUP transaction

- Install Agent 7.20 in the Enterprise Portal System

- Execute the Managed Configuration of SOLMAN_SETUP transaction.

Hi Mateus,

Thanks for your useful answer. Points are being assigned to you. The Solution Manager is already being installed and configured. I am not going to start from the installation process. I need to configure a new scenario i.e the root cause analysis for portal management on an already configured Solution manager. So, from which step of the configuration should i start? I have heard something called delta configuration of SolMan but have no clear cut idea about it. What is delta configuration?

Thanks and regards,

Divya

I never heard before about "Delta configuration". You must execute the Initial AND Basic Configuration for Solution Manager system, and the managed for the systems that you want monitor. Execute the steps that I provided before to configure the Portal system.
