Hi there,
Need assistance with XLReporter in Windows 7 Pro (64bit) running MSOffice 2007.
Get the following error when running report:
error starting Excel! Cause (Open workbook) method '~' of object.
I've seen a suggested fix meant for Office 2010 (as seen below), but can't find the same options in Excel 2007.
Office 2010 fix:
In Excel 2010 , goto File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, Protected View, Under the Data Execution Prevention option, untick the "Enable Data Execution Prevention mode".
Please help.
Thanks.
Yes, UAC is already turned off.

This user had no problem running reports 2 months ago. This issue only cropped up in recent weeks.
Created a new windows profile on this PC under a different domain user with full admin rights on the machine, but the report came up with the same error when launching excel.
I have another user with the exact same PC hardware + Windows O/S, MSOffice 2007 & service packs, and works 100% fine.
So I logged the problem user in on this PC and the report ran without a problem.
I had a look at Note 918188 and replaced the 'excel.exe.config' file, but now I get the error below:
An error occurred the process u201CIFDSLib Initializeu201D.
Description: (666) Internal error while processing license-key!
File or assermbly name Blowfish_NET, or one of itu2019s dependencies, was not found.
XL Reporter startup failed!
I've uninstalled the sap client again completely, deleted the C:\Programfiles\SAP folder, and also deleted all the entries starting with 'ix...' in the registry. Then I reinstalled the SAP client from scratch again. This also did not resolve the problem.
Have you tried turn off UAC?

I already have Macros enabled and trust VB checked.
I uninstalled/reinstalled the SAP client completely and also ran a repair on the OFF2007 installation + downloaded all the latest MSUpdates, but to no avail......the problem remains.

Hi GordonDu,
I know how to get to the trust Centre Settings, but from there I can't seem to find anything related to "Protected View" or "Data Execution prevention".

Hi,
It is under bottom line of Office button called Excel Options. You can find Trust Center there.
Thanks,
Gordon
